O’Brien wrote the book “On Pluto: Inside the Mind of Alzheimer’s” about his experience with the disease, which David Shenk, author of “The Forgetting,” turned into a short film as part of his four-film project “Living with Alzheimer’s.”
At Cure Alzheimer's Fund's 10th anniversary celebration, we honored Alzheimer's advocate Charles Collier for his incredible work fighting the stigma surrounding Alzheimer's disease. Collier is a former senior philanthropic advisor to Harvard University who was diagnosed with early onset AD in 2008. His successor at Harvard, Mr. Alastair Halliday, provided some congratulatory remarks.

On Wednesday, February 26, 2014, a U.S. Senate subcommittee heard from several panelists on the state of research, funding and awareness for Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. The first panel was led by Dr. Francis Collins, director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). In his talk, Dr. Collins describes much of the research being conducted by Cure Alzheimer’s Fund, which is focused on identifying both the causes of Alzheimer’s disease and identifying therapeutic targets for drug discovery to prevent cognitive decline.
